Elisa Sassera  is an Italian visual artist who lived and worked in NYC for the past 14 years. Born in Palermo, Sicily, she attended Classical Studies followed by a Bachelor's degree in Fine Art cum laude. In June of 2001 she was selected for an Internship from Creative Time, Art in the Anchorage at the Brooklyn Bridge and that is how her adventure in NYC started. Sassera works in several media including installations, painting, prints, and photographs. The subject matter of her artistic expression is an exploration of semiotics and communication, culture and tradition and myth and philosophy as seen in signages and signboards. She has exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Italy and NYC. She has been assisting in projects for Gail Albert Halaban, Dana Barnes, worked at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Christie's. She was also teaching Art classes with the option of Italian and English language to children of all ages in private and public schools in NYC.

 

March 21 2016 was Casa Bimbi first day: a Reggio Emilia Inspired trilingual learning center for children 18 months up to 6 years old, a house where a child can still be a child!
